Tennessee Jed was a dark black and red male. He was the Best Puppy the year he was shown at the Canadian National and won again as an adult. He went on to earn many Best is Specialties and Group Wins. With very limited breeding he achieved his Registry of Merit (ROM), and many of the bitches bred to him received their (ROM) with just one litter. Jed also showed his proficiency in herding as well. Sharon Todoroff of Todorhaus German Shepherds was able to collect frozen semen from Jed. After many years of storage since his passing, we are able to breed to him again.

Todorhaus Tennessee Jed earned both American and Canadian Conformation Championships, and a Best In Specialty Show (BISS). Tennessee Jed passed the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) test for hips and elbows, and earned a Herding Test (HT) title proving his abilities as a herding dog. More importantly, Tennessee Jed holds the coveted Register Of Merit (ROM) designation for his proven progeny.

Remembering the famous quote of Master Breeder - Patricia Craige Trotter, "When you look at an animal's pedigree, it tells you what it ought to be. When you look at an animal performing in the ring or some other event, it tells you what he seems to be. When you look at his offspring and producing record, it tells you what he is." In order for a sire to become eligible for the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (ROM) designation, the following requirements must be met:

a) His point total must be 100 or more.
b) The points must be earned by ten or more progeny.
c) Five of these progeny must achieve the AKC title of Champion or the Parent Club designation of ROM

We first met Sharon Clark Todoroff of Todorhaus German Shepherds while traveling to the 2015 German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA) Nationals. The (GSDCA) Nationals were held at Purina Farms near St. Louis, Missouri. Sharon is an ethical breeder and we have common views about the German Shepherd Dog Breed. Sharon breeds German Shepherd Dogs for sound temperament, good health and longevity, and to be able to do what this breed is for - WORK. Sharon only uses dogs in their breeding program that are Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) certified.  Sharon breeds dogs for what she terms, "The Total Package." Many of the Todorhaus dogs have been in service work, police work, obedience, herding, agility etc. She breeds for dogs that can accomplish the many disciplines in the German Shepherd Dog world. Additionally, Sharon is an American Kennel Club (AKC) Breeder of Merit!

Todorhaus German Shepherds has predominantly American lines, but occasionally breeds to German lines. Their dogs are known for conformation and also work in herding, agility, and tracking. They also donate dogs to the Service Community. Later in 2016, we contacted Sharon about the possibility of breeding to Todorhaus Cloud Dragon "Drako" because of his many strengths. We explained to Sharon about the needs of disabled veterans especially those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the need for quality emotional support dogs that I would donate to the SEAL Dog Foundation. The Seal Dog Foundation is devoted to helping veterans and their canines. In addition to helping veterans obtain a much-needed therapy or service dog, they also provide training for veterans who wish to train their dog to become a service animal. The Foundation depends on the generosity of donors to be able to provide service dogs and these training services to veterans.

When Sharon Todoroff saw some of these veterans with their service animals donated through the SEAL Dog Foundation, she decided to help our country's wounded veterans heal from their combat-related injuries in a unique way. Because of the shortage of quality dogs for placement and extensive waiting lists for these veterans to receive dogs, she decided to donate frozen semen from her Tennessee Jed to assist with the need of quality dogs. We have bred Tennessee Jed to our Todorhaus Mojave-Soaring High In The Night (AKA: Jewel) with a litter  was whelped August 17, 2023!
