Xoe was awarded a V1 rating (very good), and earned her International and United Kennel Club Championships. Xoe has also earned a URO1 rating. (URO (United Rally Obedience) - United Kennel Club's equivalent of the AKC's Rally Obedience) Xoe has successfully competed in scentwork and has won many "High In Trial" awards. (see pictures below) Xoe has also competed and earned points in the American Kennel Club (AKC) Conformation. Additionally in the AKC, Xoe has earned Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) and Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) certifications. Xoe is the first dog I bred that officially earned a coveted "Total Dog" designation.
Xoe the Finesser was whelped from our Champion Karma Carmella CGC, TC, CHIC breeding with Performance Award Winner, VA1 (GSDCA-WDA 2012), (USA Sieger 2012, 2013), and 2012 North American Sieger Show (NASS), Rocco vom Mittelwest IPO3, SCH3, Kkl1. She was 1 of 2 girls in a litter of 6 puppies. We knew she was something special and was our "pick of the litter." When objectively professionally appraised, she was determined to be equal to the best male in the litter. What really caught our attention was her gait, beauty, demeanor, and her intelligence together with her high test scores on the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test. Xoe had scored the highest of any dog we have bred with the Volhard Puppy Assessment..
We loved Xoe's spunk, spirit and moxie, similar to her mother Karma! She is athletic, agile, well-coordinated, and has the strong drives necessary for working. Xoe's litter was our first breeding merging Working Line Sires with our Show Lines to produce multi-purpose, multi-disciplined German Shepherd Dogs. Read More about our breeding philosophy...
We weren't about to sell Xoe to someone who wouldn't appreciate her, or allow her to be sentenced to the majority of her life in a fenced kennel with a dog run. We wanted her placed in a family and be able to bond with her owner and family. We wanted to determine if our intuition was correct and she could be as good as we thought. We wanted to determine if we ourselves suffered from "Kennel Blindness" and were objective about her quality.
We consulted with the DeLisi family our friends who already owned one of our dogs, Karma's sister Roxy DeLisi. It didn't take much convincing for them to agree to having Xoe become a member of their family and belong to their son. We wanted her placed close and in a family that would work with her to fulfill her potential. She has proven to be a winning competitor quickly at a young age. In 2021, the DeLisi family has started their own business Gusto German Shepherds with services including training, showing and breeding German Shepherds.
The first weekend Xoe was shown, her Junior Handler Tifani King won Best Junior Handler in Show - twice by different judges! Tifani as a junior handler was a natural when it comes to handling and showing dogs! Tifany and Xoe make a great team! The DeLisi family has done a wonderful job with her! Below is what she has accomplished before 15 months of age!
Xoe then went on to earn her Conformation
Championship and 3 Reserve Best in Shows in just 1 weekend!
Xoe has been "High
in Trial" numerous times in scent work. Xoe is smart... Really
smart! She has competed in Rally and Obedience and won her
URO1 title easily.
Xoe excels in nose work!
Xoe is truly the "Total Dog" and has in public
competition objectively proven herself in Conformation and
Performance Events!
A Total Dog displays many abilities in function,
temperament, and structure. Our Total Dog philosophy places
an emphasis on dogs that can show and perform in multiple venues
utilizing multiple disciplines, such as displaying the gait appropriate for their breed type while in the show ring, and then using that superb construction to effortlessly
to compete in performance
activities. A sound, well-bred, well-adjusted dog can easily transition from the
conformation show ring to a
performance event. Venues as
agility, scent work, herding, rally,
obedience, tracking, lure
coursing and weight pull, are
typical performance events. A
Total Dog has the looks to excel
as a proper specimen of its
breed, while also having the
brains and ability to perform
athletically in a variety of
working and sporting venues.
"When you look at an animal's pedigree, it tells you what it ought to be. When you look at an animal performing in the ring or some other event, it tells you what it seems to be. When you look at an animal's offspring and producing record, it tells you what it is." - Patricia Craige Trotter, Master Breeder
